"TOO MUCH BIRTHDAY"

I don't know if any/all of you are familiar with the Bernstein Bear's story titled "Too Much Birthday"; but mommy feels like she could have been the author of that book after last week's happenings!

so many pictures to tell the story...

CELEBRATION #1 - Family party at StoneFire Pizza Company...

food -

play/games for all...

the frog-hopper really was the hit of the night...
(hence the # of pics to follow - sorry!)

(onlooker)

Noah deemed this to be his "birthday necklace"
and insisted on wearing it during gift opening.

The next series of pics highlight Noah's "expressive side" :)

safe to say he was very excited with ALL the generosity he received ...

CELEBRATION #2 -birthday night celebration with family friends..

"The Incredibles" was the theme of the night....
including "pin the mask on the super-hero"

Hannah was the "winner"
(although everyone was just happy to play...)even the little people got a chance to at least pose with Dash :)

(it may be hard to part with Dash...)
he fits in just great with the rest of our super-hero family!

and after games, we all know what comes next...cake!

then gift opening (again)
....
new accessories for the skateboarding craze -

his very own camel-back jr.

always fun to have a house full of all our friends!

thanks to all our big and little friends that celebrated with us!

and thank you for the incredible thoughtfulness!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

Birthday boy...

Today we celebrate Noah's birthday.....

I have been caught by surprise many times in the last two weeks,
in anticipation of this BIG birthday,
by the emotions that sneak up on me
as I reflect back on the past 5 years!

Many more pics to come of the awesome celebrations
we have had this week!

Noah, you are my high-energy,
boy of all boys...
Your smiles melt away the challenges :)
Those freckles give you much advantage :)
You have such a cleverness behind all that character,
and I am eager to watch you
grow by leaps and bounds
this year

Last week was the "Week of the Young Child"...

Mommy helped orchestrate a
"Chalk the Walk" day with our preschool...

despite spotty-skies, we hoofed our way downtown
for all our town to see
our display of artwork

(note: not mine - but that of a classmate....)

Hannah's little friends were a bit more
precarious to monitor on the downtown streets...

but with the help of some other great
mommies and daddies...
Unfortunately - the sun hid 99% of the time
my class ventured out,
but through my "superhero" gloves...

All in all - fun times!

...sunnier days ahead!

make the best of it....

Spring in WI has been a bit disappointing this year....

we will experience 1-2 beautiful days
followed by many cold, dreary and windy days :(

But, that has only led us to be
more resourceful/imaginative

a.k.a. indoor picnics!

followed by a fun DVD bingo game day!

Thanks Godfrey's for such a fun day!

Last month (sorry all my faithful blog-checkers)
we visited this cute place in Delafield called the Play Gallery.

It was a great "still-winter, not-quite-spring" day activity!

At first the children didn't know where to dive in,
there was so many "goodies".

Every where you looked they had little nitches of fun...
from train tables -

to legos-

one of the hits of the day was the dress up corner/stage...

Elijah and Lucy fell head over heels (sometimes literally)
for the "grocery store".

and sweet moments with mommy...

while the boys and I got busy doing our man-stuff :)

playhouses with ramps and slides...

separate sections for the 'lil ones to retreat to ...
First official group-outing for 'lil miss Haylee!

and little art studios for us to tap into our more creative (less wild) side

there was no chance of getting
a cooperative group photo shot,
but us mommies did our best.
