Clark cabin

The weekend before last we were invited up
to the Clark cabin for some good outdoor fun!

lots and lots of playing

and running "wild"...

included a little loungin...

a little nail-painting action...
a little nail-painting action
(tradition up at the Clark cabin,
for ALL who attend)
even diaper changing is more fun when you are up at the cabin!

who can forget about the 4-wheeler rides?

Relatively nearby is a pool,
where we went to cool off from the
hot, muggy temperatures...

then back for a little campfire time...

Thanks Grandma Ruth and Auntie Sharon!

MT part III - attempted camping trip

These next group of pictures are quite deceiving. We headed up to Greenough lake (near Red Lodge, MT) for a hiking/fishing/camping adventure....
but only got in a picnic and a short exploration hike before storms settled in
and we were chased around Red Lodge by thunderstorms.

Glad I had my camera out for the first 45 minutes of the day :)

Started with a quick fuel-up (i.e. sandwiches and fruit)
followed by a relatively short hike...

to Greenough Lake.
Brandon being engineer like, constructed his own homemade fishing pole :)

as the kids attempted to attract fish with some nearby left-over stash of corn.

a little skipping-rock action....

and mini-photo shoot (come-on, who could resist with this backdrop!)

but, in reality....we were home (back in Billings)
6 short hours later,
cooking dinner and roasting marshmallows
back at Brett and Darcee's :)

there's always next year (I've been promised!)

MT part II - simple joys

While in Montana last week,
we spent much time just embracing the simple things in life....

bike rides...

fudgcicles and pick-up trucks :)

backyard pizza parties....
sorry for the multitude of E-man pics to follow;
mommy thinks they are just too adorable!

picnicking...

and lots and lots and LOTS
of pool fun!

Hannah made great friends with the neighbor girls....

some of us had pool-overload...

but most of us couldn't get enough!

Thanks Mimi and Papa for investing in the
endless water fun!
