Wisconsin rollercoaster

Last week the sun rose high -
melted off our accumulation of feet of snow...

and afforded us the joy of getting outside
for some much-needed fresh air and exercise!

I got to try out my new skateboard that Santa brought me
(actually outside on real pavement vs. this inside nonsense
mom keeps encouraging me to do!)and Elijah loved to be able to move without the
snowpants, boots, mittens, etc.

(mom said hat was still a must - wind was chilly!)

However, as a native of WI, you have to learn to
"ride the ride"....

So, as with rollercoasters- what goes up (temperatures)
will go down (temperature)...

bringing more snow and chill.

do not be disheartened though -
we are enjoying it nonetheless!

all it takes is a sled, a sister....a little yard elevation

(some courage)

and the result .... giggles all around!

For now, we will enjoy the thrill of the ride -

but will also look forward to getting off
and staying "level" come spring!

our special Valentine's day

Yesterday was a perfect Valentine's Day!
Mommy really went from sun-up to sun-down to make today special for us.

starting with valentine's day puzzles and books..

and Care bear socks to stickers...


Lunchtime special was heart-shaped PB&Js;
dinnertime was a party! :)

Mommy offered to watch kiddos so her friends
could have a quieter night with their hubby's
(which equated into a party for us)!


at the beginning of the evening,
mommy laid out the ground rules:


#1 No hitting/pushing

#2 Kind/loving words only

and #3....when a camera is in the room,
a smile must be had!!!

(they did pretty good with rules #1 and #2,
BUT...excelled when it came to rule #3!)

even lil Lucy followed directions :)

we made heart-shaped mini-pizzas on mommy's homemade english muffins...

Kind of hard NOT to smile when you
are eating anything heart-shaped!

well, I guess unless you have a sippy cup inserted!

Just incase mommy didn't think we had enough
energy/wild-factor going on....

she handed out these for after-dinner treats!

all in all - great way to spend Valentine's day...
with our special little friends!

MN weekend

This past weekend we spent a beautiful weekend with good (great) friends in MN!

We could NOT get enough of sweet, sweet Tyler

I think the presence of the three of us what a bit,
well...startling for baby Ty...

BUT, he took it in stride and joined right in on the smiles.

He truly is the most soft-"spoken", sweet-spirited little guy you could imagine...

and ever-so-patient with all of our handling.

Packer party

GO PACK GO!

Last night we had our "little" Packer party!

8 adults + 8 kids = party!!!

(wait, wait a minute...not that kind of party)

there were lots of yummy food
and great friendship goin' on....

the mama's and kiddos were all decked-out in their
GB garb....

and all the dads?

well....let's just say they were good sports
for their Packer-cheering wives!
