This weekend we worked hard at getting my big boy room set up. Here are some of the works-in-progress. Mom and Noni and I are going to go and try to pick out some fun material for curtains today.... then I get to move in :-)My mommy is very nervous that I will not stay IN my bed.... we're going to give it a try this week and see how it goes. Right now I just think it's fun to squirm around and try to stand up. Maybe I'll feel differently at night when I'm really sleepy.

Project: Room

daddy's imitator
One thing mommy and daddy have learned in the last few months is that I LOVE to imitate whatever it is that my daddy (or mommy) is doing. Helpful? Not so sure, but it sure is cute (so I hear :-) This weekend's project: finishing the varnish on all the trim for the basement.
I also "helped" mommy paint my new room this weekend. I like to walk around everywhere with canister and paint brush in hand, painting all the walls (and furniture) in sight. If only I could get my hands on that goopy orange stuff they call "paint", then I could really have made some "progress".

autumn days
Today I got to try out my Halloween costume. We went down by the river and got to pick out a pumpkin, enjoy some cookies, and show off my "ruff ruff"... here are a few pics from the day.

Play date with Carter
Even though I get to experience all these new "big boy" things, I still find it fun to "reminisce" about my "baby days" so... when mommy got the baby bouncy seat out I just had to try it out again.
I had my friend Carter (6 weeks? old) come and play with me this week. I really love babies. I give them kisses, and rub their back when they cry.

The Beginnings of "Big Boy"
This week is the start of a series of "big boy" transitions. Last week we went to Target and got a big boy booster so I can now sit at the table with the "big people".
It has brought some new challenges to mommy/daddy (now that my high chair tray isn't there to contain the chaos), but for the most part I'm doing pretty well. I've gotten really good at using my utensils,

"baby talk"
There has been a lot more baby talk around my house lately... I'm not exactly sure what is about to happen in my world, but I do know that mommy's belly has a fun belly button

LOVE YOU AUNTIE DARCEE!
I had a very special weekend this past weekend. My Auntie came flew in all the way from Montana to spend some time with me.
I am sad that she lives so far away...
we would have so much fun if she lived closer.
She read me books,
and helped me fix my toys with my tools...
I got so worn out I had to take a little break and get some snuggle time with mommy....
After I caught a quick rest we were back at it and went to visit an apple orchard. They closed early though, which was too bad, but they had this old fire tuck in the yard, so we took it for a ride...
Then mommy and daddy took Auntie Darcee to Chicago for the day (I got to go to the zoo with Papa and Noni)

garage sale treasure
It even has a horn and a steering wheel that steers.
Right now I have a hard time accepting it when mommy and daddy say "all done" and we have to go inside. It's just too much fun - don't they understand????

West coast ruckus
Last weekend daddy's friends fromVancouver came to visit us. I gave them my best midwest hospitality, but I'm afraid there was a bit of "volume" that they weren't quite used to. I learned the art of morning brew from Chris....
I'm not sure if I can keep it all straight at this point, but I just liked being in on the action... my newest frustration (among a few) is not being able to see what's on the counter as mommy works in the kitchen.
I also worked on mastering a few more animal sounds while they were hear... a sheep, an elephant and a fishy! I may not have many words, but who needs words when you have puzzles

At the car wash.....
Today I got to do something very special... I got to help my daddy wash the cars! Nothing better than buckets of soapy water and my daddy to spend time with. There is a definite art to it...

Noni's birthday
I got to play with my cousin, Christian, that I haven't gotten to play with very often... he is silly and makes me laugh, but also very sweet too and gave me hugs. Hugs are my newest discovery and I LOVE to give them and am REALLY good at it. Mommy keeps saying - "those are sweet moments".
