Nature's Bliss

This past weekend daddy surprised us
with a great spontaneous trip,
to go on a hiking adventure
and take in some of the beauty of the local Kettle Morraine!


Bridger got to join us!


and we were off!

first we went up...

(to the lookout)

and then we went down..

we went on a hunt for lots of treasures,
of which included...

sticks -

flowers...

acorns -

and great hiding spots!

and just a great opportunity to soak up some delightful October sun!

Mommy is always in awe
of the way nature silences me :)
as I take it all in.

It was determined a success
(and an even more amazing feat)
that we were all
still beaming with smiles at the end of our hiking journey!

It could be that we had snacks waiting for us
under the great big yellow-leafed tree!

Fall is Mommy's favorite time of year;
despite the dread most of us Midwesterners feel
of the following chill/frozen arena!




Elijah took it all in...


and decided to join in on the fun!

palling around with his buddy, Bridger!


But, beyond the chance to take in all God's beauty,
we had the chance to indulge in an hour of daddy-playtime!
